Volos

The city of Volos is located at the foot of the peninsula of Pelion in the centre of Greece. It is situated at an approximately equal distance between Athens and the second major city of Greece, Thessaloniki.
It is a lively town, with a busy waterfront which is lined with many pastry shops, cafes-bars, restaurants and tsipouradika. The waterfront is also the place where local people go for a stroll which is a walk before or after the dinner.
The surrounding streets are also of interest as they are bustling with life. The streets are very commercial with many shops.

The town of Volos is also interesting from a cultural point of view. It is the birthplace of the Argo legend, the starting point of the mythical quest of the Argonauts. On the port of Volos, you can see a replica of the legendary boat.

There is also the Archaeological Museum of Volos, which contains findings from the surrounding areas that date from the Bronze Age to the Hellenistic period.
